The X-Class slowly being re-assembled, the body work was extensive but most has been completed. So if this is the X-Class does that make the workers “X-MEN”?
The work has taken many committed hours form dedicated people, one wonders what would have happened to this piece of history if not for these people.
Another view of the X-Class with a shiny new battery box. Made of heavy checker plate aluminium, this was to replace the original which was corroded severely.

Cleaning the hand posts and polishing them back to new condition. Some of these post showed the years of abuse and ware, but with time have come up well.
There was and still is much basic work to do on the X-Class, but slow and carefully it is all coming together.
 
Some jobs appears to be small but every little piece must be cleaned and refurbished. Then tested and replace on the X-class..

Yes that is a single deck silver you see, it too will be come the target of restoration work. This unit has some real major work ahead.

The reds, sun baking in the light of day, Even the reds need a relaxing day out doors now and again.
 
 
A side on shot shows the elegant cream detail line down each side. These have been repainted as with the “red” base .
