THE
MILLENNIUM
TRAIN Tour was the first using the new Millennium Trains and proved very successful. The train consisted of D1015, D1016, N1515, and N1516.
The seating was comfortable with ample room to move, the drive cars provided people with the motor noises while the more sedate of the travellers chose the trailers. These were very quite and allowed us to sit back, relax and enjoy.
The tour started at Redfern then travelled to Sydenham, then through to Strathfield and on to Olympic Park, Short stop for photos at Olympic Park and then on our way for the rest of the journey via Illawarra Line to Thirroul.
The tour was running a little late, but no one seemed to notice. Many new innovations were discovered and learnt while on the trip by many enthusiasts who by the end of the day gave the “thumbs up” to these new additions to the Sydney System.
Once the initial problems are over come these trains will provide a valuable addition to City Rails fleet. Over all everyone had a great day and enjoyed them-selves immensely.
