Queensland Rail suburban train, look very modern and are comfortable, not a lot of complaints for the locals.

The last 39 class diesel haul passenger train at rest, not being retired, but will be resigned to hauling coal.

The 39 class uses single arm pans, as shown in this photo. Click to enlarge.

Inside one of the preserved passenger carriages. The were to be converted to drivable units but the project never went forward.

Another view of the Queensland Rails passenger units, neat, clean lines and a hint of possible English rail?

Front of the 39 Class “Bethania” hauling the last passenger train, for a lot of people it is the passing of an era, for others, progress has just caught them.

Another view of “Bethania”, this commemorative day proved very popular and a lot of interest was generated about the future of the 39 Class.
Inside the cab of “Bethania”, showing the drivers view of the controls.
Another view of the control room of the 39 Class, appears complicated, but he Drivers assured us that it becomes second nature.

TOne of the rail yards located around Brisbane.
Underway and looking back towards the rear of the train. There was very good support and all had a great day.
A shower of sparks fly in all directions as the operator cuts through a piece of steel needed in the restoration of another exhibit.

Ipswich workshops, very professional, rail heritage is embraced not tolerated and the people here take exceptional pride in their work.
